Getting to the cable car on foot

The tower's site describes the route from Myeong-dong Station Exit 5: walk straight to the Hoehyeon intersection, turn left and go uphill, ride the escalator (Namsan Oreumi) to the cable car platform, then take the cable car straight to the tower. Total time is about 15 minutes. The escalator runs 09:00 to 23:00 and is stopped for maintenance every Monday from 09:00 to 14:00; the cable car runs 10:00 to 23:00.

Cost calculator

The calculator uses only the individual fares above: seniors pay the child price at both the tower and the cable car, and children under 36 months are not counted (free at the tower; the cable car page does not state an under-36-month fare). Group, resident, disability and national-merit discounts are not applied.

Where the official pages differ

The two cable car statements overlap for most children; ask at the booth if your child is in the gap between ages 12 and the end of elementary school. We use the rendered text (36 months to 12) in the table and calculator.
